The Pocono Health Foundation has announced that the application process is open for its annual scholarships. The Jennie Cramer Memorial Scholarship, the Robert A. Gordon Memorial Scholarship and the R. Dale Hughes Scholarship are designated for students who will be enrolled in their last year of an accredited nursing program in the Fall of 2008. The Dr. Elmo J. Lilli Memorial Healthcare Scholarship is designated for high school seniors who have been accepted into select accredited healthcare programs.

“These scholarships are very important,” says Kathleen E. Kuck, interim COO of Pocono Medical Center. “With the forecasted shortage of healthcare workers in the future, all hospitals will be in need of highly trained employees. The Pocono Health Foundation scholarships will help students become the types of professionals that Pocono Medical Center is looking for.”

Interested students may download an application from the Pocono Health System website at www.poconohealthsystem.org. Applications for the Jennie Cramer Memorial Scholarship, the Robert A. Gordon Memorial Scholarship and the R. Dale Hughes Scholarships are due by March 31. Applications for the Dr. Elmo J. Lilli Memorial Healthcare Scholarship are due by April 15.
